If you want to see perfect white sand beaches and crystal blue water on Oahu then Kailua Beach is a must see. The beach’s calm waters are due to the protective bay that surrounds the beach and makes Kailua Beach the kayak capital of Oahu! The calm waters allow beginners and advanced kayakers safe kayaking and the opportunity to explore both Moku’lua Islands and Lanikai Beach Kailua Sailboards & Kayaks as being part of the Fanatic Board Centers offers the most current and largest selection of single and double seat kayaks on Oahu. Each kayak comes with life jackets and each kayak has comfortable backrests and paddle leashes to make sure you do not lose your paddle on your adventure. Every guide at Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks is American Canoe Association certified instructors each with at least 10 years of professional experience. To further ensure your safety each instructor is CPR and First Aid certified as well. You will be in good hands with Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks.

2-Hour Guided Kayaking Excursion

A great activity for beginners and families alike. Enjoy 2 hours of kayak along Kailua Beach. (Children must be over 8 years old and must be with a guardian in a double kayak)

After a short orientation your kayak adventure begins as you head out to the seabird sanctuary Popoia Island! Be on the look for marine life as you kayak! You may see tropical fish and if you are lucky possibly even a sea turtle!

When you land at Popo’ia Island prepare for a short 20 minute guided hike around the island. Birdwatchers will be delighted to see all the birds of paradise! Feel free take as many pictures as you like so you can treasure your Hawaii vacation memories forever. Your expert guide will inform you of the history and ecology of the island as well.

Time permitting you will make your way next to the world famous Lanikai Beach. Come visit one of America’s top beaches. Take a stroll on the warm white sand or just bask in the beauty of the sun and get a Hawaii tan as well to show to your friends when you get back home. At Lanikai you will also enjoy a local plate lunch. Then it is time to relax on the beach, Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks supplies boogie boards and snorkeling gear so you can explore and have fun for the rest of the day at Kailua Beach.

4-Hour Guided Kayaking Excursion

This tour is geared towards those with kayak experience but is great for beginners and families as well. (Children must be 13-15 years old and accompanied by a guardian in a double kayak) This is perfect for adventure-minded beginners to experienced kayakers and their families including children 13-15 years old (must be with guardian in a double kayak). All participants MUST be able to swim.

Time permitting you will make your way next to the world famous Lanikai Beach. Come visit one of America’s top beaches. Take a stroll on the warm white sand or just bask in the beauty of the sun and get a Hawaii tan as well to show to your friends when you get back home. Then it is time to relax on the beach, Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks supplies boogie boards and snorkeling gear so you can enjoy the beach life.

After some rest and relaxation its back to kayaking as you head for the Moku’lua Islands. After the one mile trip you land on the white sand beaches of Moku’lua. At this beautiful seabird sanctuary you will enjoy a picnic lunch. Your guide will take you on a guided hike around the island and take you as well to the secret tide pool, surf conditions permitting. From here you will see all types of marine life from whales to dolphins and birds and turtles. Time permitting you will then have the opportunity to snorkel the underwater lava formations before you head back to Kailua Beach.

For those experienced kayakers Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks offers a 4 hour self guided tour. Take your time as you kayak around Kailua Beach and Lanikai Beach. If you want to challenge yourself you can go to Moku’lua Island or Popo’ia Island. Or just relax and take it easy, Hawaiian style.

You will be provided with a video briefing and instruction from Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks expert staff. They will also advise you on ocean conditions and give you a site map as before you blaze your own trail.

I was a bit nervous about kayaking,,, but the staff was so friendly and informative and the safety video made me feel comfortable,,my fiancee and i rented a double kayak, set out for the farthest island, i got a bit panicky when the waves got big… we were almost there! but turned around and laid out at Lanikai beach and had a snack, went back out to Flat Island which was incredible and hung out there for a while. Back to the mainland and we were exhausted! The four hour rental was plenty! Headed from there to Los Garcia’s which had strange and limited parking but the service and the margs and food were outstanding!!!!‎

The surf can really fight you so allow 2-3 hours in order to leisurely enjoy the excursion. I highly recommend you rent the back support for the sea kayak! Believe me your back will thank you.‎

Went on the 4 hour kayak trip to the mokes. Yes, it was a long paddle but you get time to rest and there is a guide for the fast people in the front and the slow in the back. Loved exploring the moke island and swimming in a real tide pool. Overall was my favorite excursion on the trip, got us over to the East side of the island, A+!

Great Kayaking By a Trip Advisor Member - Aug 14- 2009 I loved Kayaking at the beautiful Kailua. This outfit is very easy to work with. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. I had a little time at the adjcent Lanikai beach after the Kayaking–the best beach on Oahu. If only I had more time to spend there! I would definitely go back to KSK again. The lunch was a bit of a joke. The barbecue place next door was horrible. But I don’t really mind that after a great Kayaking experience. I highly recommend this place.

At Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks, they will casually mention that the best place to kayak is to the nearest of the nearby Mokulua Islands, visible offshore. I’m telling you now, it’s a lot farther than it looks, and it’s HARD WORK, but it’s well worth it once you get there. And these guys are one of the only ways to get there, unless you BYOK (bring your own kayak). You pay at the little office a few blocks away, where you watch an orientation video, then you meet them at the canal where you get the actual boat, carry it across the sand, and take off into the ocean. (Hint: Ask for the military discount if you qualify.) On our return trip, two turtles surfaced very near the kayak to check us out. It was awesome. Thanks, KSK!

Book with Waikiki after I had be canceled by another company. I was picked up on time at my hotel and taken to the shop. Despite only have two customers they took us out on a two tank dive. We went out on a large boat with lots of room. Scott the dive master was awesome. Looked for sea life and things we may want to see, touch or hold. Great job on finding an octopus for us to play with. In between dives the boat captain took us in front of a large school of dolphins and we dove in to swim with them. OUTSTANDING. Great way to spend the surface interval. Good equipment, great staff, good price. Would definately go with them again.
