Travel with us to the enchanting, lush rainforest deep within the beautiful Valley of the Rainbows. Nestled below towering jungle trees, Lyon Arboretum, one of the world’s premier botanical gardens awaits you. Oahu Nature Tours provides exclusive, small group, guided tours to this exotic rainforest paradise where 5,000 species of plants bathe in the, fragrant mists produced by over 185 inches of rainfall every year.As we explore the 200 acre garden, colorful blossoms including bromeliads, hibiscus and orchids surround you while tropical birds sing nearby. Your nature guide will provide information about the garden’s interesting history and efforts to save some of the rarest plants in the world.Traveling through the historic valley you will learn about the fascinating local history and mythology. The ancient, cloud-swept, emerald green hills have witnessed a steady procession of uses on the valley floor, from Hawaiian taro farms, to cattle ranches, coffee plantations and Japanese rice paddies.
We then visit Pu`u `Uala-ka`a located 1,048 feet above Waikiki. From this lofty vantage point you have a breathtaking 180 degree panoramic view of Oahu’s scenic southeast coastline and sometimes a glistening double rainbow arching across the Valley of the Rainbows far below. |

did two tours with this company while in Honolulu recently. Definitely worth it! The Tours: We did the Manoa Falls Tour and Diamond Head Crater Tour. Each tour had about 8-12 participants which was the perfect size. All of the tour particpants were friendly too. Dante (our guide for Diamond Head) even made us introduce ourselves on the ride out to the site, which made it fun to know where everyone was from. Both guides provided each participant with a bottle of water for the hike. In addition, they provide walking sticks and a backpack for anyone that would like to use one. I recommend going with the walking stick for the Manoa Falls Hike. Very slippery, especially on the way back down the trail. I also recommned using the bug spray when they offer it. It didn’t seem like there were a lot of mosquitos out there until I realized I have over 20 bites the next morning!! Can’t say they didn’t warn ya! Both tours picked us up at the Sheraton which was around the corner from our hotel. One thing to keep in mind is that the pick-up/drop-off times are approximations. They note this when you call to make the reservation. The Tour Guides: Our tour guides (Mike and Dante) were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Both guides would stop periodically throughout the tour to talk about the historical and/or cultural significance of a particular plant, site, etc. During the hike back from the Manoa Falls site, our tour guide (Mike) even gave us a mini-history lesson on Hawaii. Both guides get an A++ in my book!! If I ever make it back to Hawaii, I definitely plan on doing another tour with this group!

Took the North Shore and Manoa Falls Hike with Oahu, had Harry and Dante as the tour guides. Both were awesome, provided so much information and always entertaining. Originally thought the tour would just be pointing out the sight seeing spots and what to look for, but both Harry and Dante provided more interesting facts which made the trip a fun, interesting, and learning experience. It made me appreciate the nature and Hawaiian culture so much more.

| By Akemi O. – August 29 2009 Decided to book this based on the reviews here, also the price for all of the hikes and packages are very reasonable! My sister and husband and I did the Manoa waterfall hike. We were picked up promptly at the Ala Moana Hotel, and our tour guide Gavin pretty much kicked butt the whole time, Right away it was like we had known him forever and he would actually be a friend we would hang out with on the weekends! Very knowledgeable and friendly, and thorough! We learned a TON about the rain forest and about him as well! The hike was beautiful, pretty easy just slippery at times, I GUESS you could hike this without a guide, however you would be missing out on all of the valuable info a guide would have to offer! We would definitely book this company again for a different hike, going back soon hopefully! PS wear shoes that you do not care about getting dirty because you WILL get mud ALL over them. |

| By Gigi T – July 8 2008 HIGHLY recommend this Eco-tour company. I was initially attracted to the selection of tours Oahu Nature Tours offered, all emphasized the natural beauty of Hawaii – waterfall, rain forest, sea turtle, crater, OMG that was exactly why I went to Hawaii in the first place! My mother and I picked 3 tours at a discounted rate. I remember a lot of hiking (which I love), rain forest that actually rains on you unpredictably (but the tour guide KNOWS couple seconds in advance and said… oh yeah, it’s coming!), sea turtle roam around on shore that eats off your hand, stealing pineapples from pineapple farm (can i say this here? it’s ok, that tour guide was no longer with the company last time I checked), super knowledgeable and entertaining guides. I’ve been to Hawaii several times now, and I had to say Oahu Nature Tour made this the best time I ever had in Hawaii. Anticipate lots of hiking! OMG I love it! |

| By Dani F - May 23 2007 I lucked out finding this tour company. During my trip I wanted to experience the natural wonders of Hawaii without having a direct negative impact on the environment. While looking through the myriad of brochures I was impressed by the selection of tours they offered. As a provider of Eco-tours I was excited to try them out. The tour group has various pick-up spots at hotels in Honolulu. Since I was staying at a friend’s place they were able to set up a pick up at the Ala Moana Hotel, which was the closest to where I was staying. The tour I signed up for was the “Natural Highlights of Oahu Adventure” tour. This tour takes you around the island showing you different natural highlights. The bus drives to different areas, you get out and explore a bit and then hop back on it for the next stop. The tour guide was amazing. He was knowledgeable about the environment he showed us. We were lucky enough to make a stop at an off the beaten track beach. The tour guide had found this beach while out exploring the island and was excited to share it with the group. It definitely added to my enjoyment of the tour. I had initially signed up for a “Discover Honolulu’s Hidden Waterfalls” tour but wanted to switch it to the “Manoa Waterfall Adventure” tour because after talking to the tour guide I realized that it wasn’t the experience I was looking for. I called Oahu Nature Tours the next day and they happily switched tours for me. Luckily they were the same price so I didn’t have to be concerned about any additional payments. The guide I had for the Manoa Falls hike was great. He had bottled water, walking sticks and rain ponchos for everyone in the group if needed. Before starting the tour he pointed out that they were filming LOST in the area and hopefully we would get to see some of the actors. We didn’t but we did see all the equipment and trailers. I took a walking stick since the ground was wet from recent rainfall. It was a gorgeous hike that was a little challenging for me since I am out of shape. The guide took his time to point out different interesting things throughout the tour. I wish I had more time on the island to try another one of their tours. |

The perfect way to see the island! My husband and I took tour number 4, and it was awesome… The van drove us to about 10 different sights, we got to get out and take pics and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our guide, Stan, was fun and provided a lot of great info about the island. If you don’t feel like hiking but want to see scenic places, go on this tour! A++++
